Last week we had an opportunity as a family to go visit one of the more remote villages on the island. Twice a year the Wana church have a conference in one of their villages, this time it was Uekoyo's turn, a small village with no more than 20 houses. It was a real encouragement to see how the church is doing. The kids made many new friends and had a great time. I'll make some comments on the individual pictures to guide you along our journey.
Last week I was able to join my friend Alan on a trip to Peleng, an island off the east coast of Sulawesi. We went to help the team there with some practical repairs and some wiring. For me it was an opportunity to learn some practical skills, and also get to know some of our coworkers and see the challenges they're faced with in their ministry.
Peleng is perhaps the most beautiful place I've ever been to, with one picturesque coastal village after the other. One afternoon Alan and I went for a ride along the coast stopping by a few villages for a cold drink or a dip in the ocean. All in all a great success!! |
