On the morning of the 8th of March we got to experience a solar eclipse here in Palu. In fact, this was one of very few places along a narrow trajectory across South East Asia where the eclipse was total. It was one of those surreal moments that I am confident we'll all remember for the rest of our lives. For a brief moment the most consistent thing in this strange world of ours disappeared all together. Below are the results of my failed attempt at getting the event on camera.
For one reason or another leaving Norway was more difficult this time around. It might be that our previous experience has made us painfully aware of how much we miss our family and friends while being away, or it could be that the precious time we had with them was just too short. The upside is that God has provided a new family for us right here, half a world away. That's right, friends and family.......you have been replaced!!!
Well....not really, missing those we left behind just makes us appreciate the new friendships we've gained all the more. |
