Our first blog entry on our new blog is going to be dedicated to the whiptail scorpion. One of the most interesting and strange bugs I've ever seen. The whiptail scorpion is in fact not a scorpion at all. It's a complete scam, more cockroach than scorpion. Still the locals are terrified of them. I've asked Mr Google, and he claims they're completely harmless. They have no poison gland and no stinger. Their only weapon is their resemblance to a scorpion and how much they stink if stepped on. The name "vinegaroon" actually comes from the strong vinegar smell they emit if squished.
