I somehow forgot to mention Samson's head injury in our January update. While playing with his friends at church a couple weeks ago he managed to fall and smack his head on an exhaust pipe. As with most head injuries, it was rather messy and dramatic. He was bleeding a lot, causing Esther and I to quickly decide to take him straight to the hospital. There they first tried to get him on an IV-drip, because.....Indonesia. Which we politely refused. Then they suggested he be put under general anesthetic to get stitched up, and kept there for a few days to recover. This was all part of their money making scheme, thankfully we've had a few experiences at the hospitals here, and none of it was new or unexpected to us. We politely refused (again), and asked that he just get local anesthesia and go home the same day. After all, he had a birthday party to go to and no time for hospital nonsense.
Twenty minutes and seven stitches later he was all patched up and ready to go home.
