These last few days I've been visiting our team on the Island of Ambon. The main goal of the visit was to be an encouragement to the team there, and also do some low-key language evaluations to help give them some direction for further study. We're thankful for the way God strengthened Esther while I was gone, enabling her to handle five days alone with the kids. Though by the time I got back, she was quite worn down and tired.
The trip was a success. The team is doing well and have been given some input and direction to help them build some momentum as they continue on through the last stretch of culture and language learning. Esther and I still feel a burden for the work in Ambon. Although our visas are no longer based there, we feel in part responsible for the team. Helping them thrive while finishing up their studies is one small way we can be involved in the work.
